1. Overview

MDC Norte sells cycling gear, sports equipment, nutrition products and provides bicycle maintenance services. Under Puerto Rico and U.S. law there is no general right to return non-defective goods; merchants may set their own return terms (metro.pr). Many U.S. states require retailers to post their return policy; failure to post can oblige the store to accept returns within a statutory period (termsfeed.com). We display this policy in our store and on our website as required by DACO (daco.pr.gov). This policy governs all sales made in our store and through our website within the United States.

2. Returns of Non-Defective Items

Discretionary Acceptance: Returns of non-defective merchandise are accepted solely at MDC Norte’s discretion. We reserve the right to refuse any return that does not comply with this policy.

Return Window: A return request must be made within 7 calendar days from the date of purchase or, if later, the date of delivery. Late requests may be denied.

Condition Requirements: Returned items must be unused, unopened, in their original packaging, with the original tags attached, and accompanied by valid proof of purchase. Items showing any signs of wear, installation, tampering, use, or alteration will be rejected. All returned merchandise is subject to inspection and verification. The final approval or rejection of any return rests solely with MDC Norte’s store personnel.

Restocking Fee: A 10 % restocking fee will be deducted from any refund for non-defective items.

Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs. Shipping fees, handling charges, and payment-processor fees are non-refundable.

Identification & Abuse Prevention: To prevent fraud, we may require a government-issued photo ID. We track returns and reserve the right to deny service to customers engaged in excessive or abusive return behaviour.

Non-Returnable Items: The following items are final sale and not eligible for return under any circumstances:

  • Personal hygiene products (For example, not limited to: helmets, gloves, water bottles, bibs, onepieces, socks, grips, whistles) once opened or worn.
  • Opened nutrition products or consumables.
  • Custom or personalised goods (e.g., custom-built bicycles, engraved parts).
  • Gift cards or store credit.
  • Digital downloads or software.
  • Perishable goods.
  • Services and labor once provided.

3. Defective or Damaged Items

If you believe an item is defective, mis-shipped or damaged upon arrival, you must notify us within five (5) calendar days of receipt. Provide your order number, a description of the defect, and photographs. We will inspect the product; at our sole discretion we may repair, replace, or refund the item in accordance with applicable law (justanswer.com). Failure to report a defect within five calendar days may result in denial of your claim.

4. Refunds

Refunds, when approved, are issued to the original payment method after we receive and inspect the returned item. Processing may take 5–10 business days, but your bank or card issuer may require additional time. Restocking fees, shipping charges, and payment-processor fees will be deducted from the refund.

5. Exchanges

We do not accept returns or offer refunds on non-defective items. The only exchanges permitted are for clothing items that require a size adjustment, and all such exchanges are subject to stock availability and prior approval.

All clothing must be unworn, unwashed, and returned with original tags and packaging intact. Items showing signs of wear, deodorant marks, or damage will not be accepted. Due to our limited inventory and the specialized nature of our products, all other sales are final. Customers purchasing high-end cycling apparel or gear are expected to verify fit, sizing, and specifications prior to purchase.

The final approval or denial of any exchange rests solely with MDC Norte store personnel.

6. Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled only before they are prepared for shipment. Custom or special orders cannot be cancelled once placed. To request cancellation, contact us immediately at info@mdcnorte.com or by phone. If we approve the cancellation, any refund will be subject to applicable non-refundable fees.

7. Posting and Notice

We display this Return & Refund Policy prominently in our store and on our website, as required by Puerto Rico and various U.S. state laws (daco.pr.govtermsfeed.com). By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to the terms of this policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, MDC Norte and its affiliates are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service. Misuse, improper installation or failure to follow instructions voids any claims and warranties. This policy does not waive any non-waivable statutory rights.

9. Policy Updates

We may amend this policy at any time without notice. Any changes will be posted at our store and on our website. Continued purchases after changes are posted constitute acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Return Procedure (RMA)

To request a return authorization:

  1. Contact us: Email info@mdcnorte.com or call us with your order number and reason for return.
  2. Obtain RMA: Wait for a written Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) with instructions. Returns without an RMA will be refused.
  3. Prepare shipment: Repack the item securely in its original packaging with all accessories. Clearly mark the RMA number on the package.
  4. Ship: Send the item to our Returns Department at the address above using a trackable shipping service. Keep the tracking number for your records. We are not responsible for lost or damaged shipments.
  5. Inspection & decision: Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and inform you of our decision. If approved, your refund will be processed as described above. If denied, the item will be returned to you at your expense.
